Great thread! I went to the range today and shot my new Henry 45-70, forgot how much Fun they were! My 1st rifle out of high school was a Marlin 45-70, killed alot of deer with it. Went the Shiloh & sharps Black route, for About 10 years, then a 1886 light weight 45-70, loved that rifle! I shot the Rem. 405s out of it, killed a 400lb black bear and a buffalo with it. Shot thru both of them. Got dies and brass ready to reload, have a bunch of cast bullets, but will have to go thru them. I have 3031, trail boss and Unique powder, just have to figure out a load.
