I owned one of the Marlin LTD-IV M1895 (predecessor to the Cowboy model) but when I read that Remington Arms had purchased Marlin I went out and bought this standard configuration M1895. I have a plinking load that uses a 405 hard cast with 30 grains of XMP5744 and a hunting load that uses the Speer 400 grain jacketed bullet and IMR3031. Both loads are more accurate in this Marlin than many of my bolt guns are. The scope is a Leupold 1-4 VX-II I bought off the Fire classifieds when I bought the rifle.
