My great uncle, my paternal grandfathers brother, told my dad, he would give his shotgun to the first male child to carry on the family name! 😬!

Christmas of 1953, I was 3 years old. Imagine my surprise when "Unk" drug out his 16 gauge L.C. Smith, called me over and handed it to me and told me it was mine!
I was determined to carry it to the car.....but I couldn't keep both ends off the floor at the same time! LOL!
Took lot'sa ducks, squirrels and doves with it.
WAY before my time, somebody had use th r'd old mercury primer smo and the barrels are a bit pitted and it's a tad loose in the breech.....but it'll never leave my possession.
Per the S/N, it was built in 1904....I think?
