I grew up shooting a Rem 141 in 30 cal, but my Mom's second husband got away with it, instead of allowing it to stay in the family. I found a beautiful like new 141 30 Rem in a local one man gun shop. Almost bought it, just for the memories. But as it is not what I would consider an actual hunting rifle, it would have been relegated to wall hanger status. And that is not my thing.

I bought one of my two favorite rifles in 1979. A new MIJ Wea Varmintmaster 26 inch in 22-250.
Three years later a used tang safety Ruger 77 in 25-06 was acquired. They are tied for first place in my memories, although a new wife and child necessitated their sale in late '83.

The favoritest still owned is a S&W 657 Mountain Gun purchased from RJM here at the 'Fire. While a Kimber 1911 Target II in 10 mm comes close. Also purchased from Bob.
