My Brno Mod 1 .22, made in 1947. It was originally my old man's, but the Christmas after I turned 11 my parents bought a scope to put on it and gave it to me. It was the second rifle I owned, after an old single shot .22 made by FN. I've won prizes with it, and I've shot rabbits - probably thousands of them - foxes, hares and other critters with it. The beautiful rust blue is a bit thin now, but it will still group 5 rounds of ammunition it likes in about 12mm at 50m. It doesn't have the scope my parents bought - that finally gave up the ghost and was replaced with a 4x Meopta Artemis, and I also fitted an "Ace" trigger shoe 40-odd years ago, but it is otherwise unmodified. It is not the only Brno I have now, but it would be the last I'd let go.
