There's a thread on another forum entitled Favorite Large Slicing Tomato Variety.
"Mortgage Lifter" got a lot of mentions.
Supposed to be an heirloom type.
I'm going to have to try it.

Beefsteak got a lot of mentions, too.
This one reminds me on my grandfather's garden.

Thanks for sharing your wonderful collection with us, much appreciated as always.

With apologies to you and those who've seen this pair before, this is my contribution to your horn handled knives thread.

These were my take on a pair of blades I ground out of Simonds D2 planer blades from the sawmill that used to be a stone's throw from our place.

The scales are California Bighorn ewe pickups that a long passed on friend gave to me and the sheath was something I made up in the shop as well.

There was a fellow somewhere in Alberta who was using a disc sander to get that different looking grind line, so that's what I was trying to copy, but found it tough to keep it as clean looking as I'd wanted.

Anyways sir, that's the two with horns from my collection.

All the very best to you all sir.

Dwayne

Love those handles Dwayne! The knives don't suck either smile

I will too. I treated a bunch of rifles with that product years ago and have been very pleased with the results. For the first time in a long while I would like to get some again. Placing an order by contact via email seems at least unusual.

Pretty obvious he is on the right side of the politicized news media. If a constitutional conservative were to lie the way he does the media would be relentless.

Only a soft tard-bìtch like you wouldn't hunt a tag in 7 because of "access" issues. Tens of thousands of NF land to hunt....plenty of bulls on public in 7.

How did your ranch cow hunts go?

We all know you have never killed a bull elk so why whine about your betters?

Lol clueless old drunk is back on the sauce again

Re: Anyone have SA on when SWFA will drop the new fixed power scopes with the new reticle? VaHunter 2 hours ago
I have heard nothing but in my observation they are acting like a company that is on the verge of going out of business.

Lets see, you shut down your brick and mortar store, you stop offering a selection of various scope brands (maybe you do not have the working capital to stock those brands) and only will sell your own brand, but you never have your own brand in stock, but you say you are working on new offerings, but the new offerings never show up.

I hope I am wrong but I would not be waiting on them if I was you.

Re: Those CZ 457s olgrouser 3 hours ago
Back in the day I had issues with a very handsome Browning A-Bolt 22 WMR with an over bored barrel that measured .227 (that rifle went right back to Browning for full store credit) and a Marlin 22 WMR that was equally inconsistent in regards to accuracy.

These rifles caused me to reduce my expectations for the chambering even though it really preformed well on varmints. Thus, I only own 22 LR nowadays.

What is a reasonable expectations for a 22 WMR as far a accuracy is concerned??

Re: FN Mauser and peep sights Pappy348 3 hours ago
There are models made by XS, Skinner, even Williams Gunsight, that utilize the holes for the rear scope mount, or in some cases dovetails for mounting. They can be harder to get adjusted, but look pretty robust as there isn’t much “hanging out” to provide leverage under impact. They are very light and compact. One I’ve used is the Williams WGRS, aluminum, but pretty sturdy, and clearly marked for adjustment.

I ended up using the new rivets after honing them down a bit and doing some cold blue on the the exposed side. It doesn't matter since they're covered up by a shell carrier. It might be a while before I can give it a test, but function seems to be in order, no binding or slop in the barrel.

If you’re really interested, I seriously doubt it’d take much more than a bucket of quarters to find out.

A few minutes on Google could get her agents contact info. Call him up and book a shoot.
