My worst was a Savage Model 24 .22 RF over a 20 gauge barrel. The stock design was such that when the shotgun barrel was fired the comb recoiled viciously into the cheek bone. Can't remember whether it was a shot load or a slug but what ever it was I got rid of the gun soon after.
I have a .338 Win. magnum which is pleasant to shoot in comparison.

My brother had one like that. IIRC, the 20 gauge recoil was only bad with 3" shells and when you thought you had the selector set for the rimfire barrel.
Reading through some of these, I'm reminded of one I forgot when I did my first post which is my 357 PD with full house .41 mags. Someone said something about getting your hand slapped with a ping pong paddle....yep, that's it.
