Have a Encore with a 405 Win barrel that can be unforgiving off a bench. Only rifle that has given me a cresent cut above the eye, but the deer died anyway . My friends also pass on the Marlin guide gun in 45-70 .
I have one of those and you are right, it is one nasty bastid on a bench!
