I have killed a few deer in my life, the ones that travelled the farthest when hit properly were shot with a .458 winchester. I have never used a .224 bullet to kill a deer , but have the utmost confidence they will kill better then an ass shot with a .358..... Just my opinion and worth what you paid for it.
