Had it done about 20 years ago, it's an operation so yes there are POSSIBLE side effects, as with anything. They are rare.
My experience, done on a Friday morning. Spent the weekend on the couch icing per doctors orders. No discomfort/pain at all. Plus you get Doctors order to have sex after a week, need to clear out the already built up little critters before you're considered "safe", so more sex you have the faster you get to the "safe" point.
Only thing I remember is the tugging in my stomach, not pain, just not comfort, and one of the injections took my breath away for some reason.
My less invasive that tubes getting tied in the wife.
