centershot Campfire Outfitter Joined: Aug 2005 Posts: 10,765 Southern Idaho	I own a 30-06 but if I was going to buy another I would get a .308. A Win Model 70 Featherweight to be exact. I like the short action and medium weight as well as the classic good looks. .308 is plenty for the elk we have around here. A true sportsman counts his achievements in proportion to the effort involved and fairness of the sport. - S. Pope
