458 Lott Campfire Ranger Joined: Jan 2001 Posts: 21,317 Alaska / Saudi Arabia	I started out with the .308 so I've never seen a reason to get a 30-06 and if I'm going to tote a rifle built on a full size action I'd opt for either the .300 or .338 win mag. That said, if I'd started out with the -06 I'd see no reason to get a .308.
