For just an all purpose squirrel wacker, it's a 10/22 world. I've had more accurate 22's but my little 10/22 carbine has been my go to squirrel rifle since 1987, when it was new and I was 12.
I've tried "upgrading" but it just doesn't "feel" right to be carrying something else. I'll keep using it until they bury me with it or I pass it down to a grandkid somewhere down the line(and that better be a WAYS down the line, my kids are all pretty young AFAIK).
