I would just make DuckDuckGo the default for the address bar searches. You can always just make a bookmark to it or make it a home page or something

Keep in mind DuckDuckGo is pretty good. At least Google isn't tracking everything you search on and probably selling the information. But DuckDuckGo does use Google search archives and they may have bias to them.
