It takes a certain type of people for an armed rebellion. "We" aren't that people anymore. By (((design))). We have had that character....and pretty much all good character... worked out of us over the past hundred years or so, through movies, television, pop music, pop "culture", etc.
"We" are no longer even a people. "We" are SO disparate, SO different, SO divided... if "we" ever rebelled, "we" would not be able to agree upon what we were fighting for, nor would "we" be able to decide (or even discern) just who "we" were fighting against. Again, all by (((design))).
