I wouldn't go out of my way to do so, but I did kill a free range red deer hind in NZ with a supressed .22 LR and no name cheap ammo. I was rabbit hunting and just happened upon it. One broadside shot, a 50-60 yard death run and a dead critter. No drama other than a very sparse blood trail through the brush.

A bird in the hand and all that......
