Our 15 year old daughter gets her drivers license in a week and even SHE has changed a tire. 😁
Part of the deal with being a grown up and doing grown up things is that you have to have a grown up understanding of how to take care of yourself, being responsible for getting you out of the situation that you’re in. We spent 1 full day doing basic “car school”…changing tires, the anatomy of a tire valve stem and how to fix a flat with Slime, hooking up tow straps and a little basic maneuvering while being towed, trailering, jump starting and battery charging, etc. Our daughter performed perfectly and we both actually enjoyed the day. I’m teaching her how to back trailers since that’s quickly becoming a lost art too….just watch a busy boat launch someday.😂. She’s working 2-3 days with my brother moving equipment around his business site and cleaning the dozers, excavators, etc which is giving her the experience that will make her, despite her being a “girly” girl (ie.not a tomboy), more confident, competent and valuable than most grown men…..she’ll be 16 next week. 😁
