I've been driving since 1973, so yeah. Tires were a different animal then. We put re-caps on our old truck, so you'd get plenty of practice through the years.
Changing tires was a given when you bought used recaps.😂.
Haven't changed a tire on the road except one off road a while back and not a single tire problem since I started carrying a small floor jack and battery powered impact wrench.
