Well I have a 99 takedown in .300 from 1924 and my son has a 99 Featherlight. 300 from 1958. We use them. When I was a teenager I would hunt with my late Great Grandfather's 99 takedown in .300 but when that went up for auction I was outbid. But I have my own now and that seems to have righted the wrong of losing a rifle that was meaningful to me in that sale so long ago. I love the .300 Savage cartridge and think it about perfect. If I ever get another 99 I'd like it to be a 303.
