When I lived out West in Idaho I had two 99’s a 300 and a 250. Funny but none of my hunt buddies who shot Winchesters and Marlins like most could never get past always saying they may be good rifles but they looked weird. Seemed like some guys refused to accept the advantages and the fact that with a rotary mag you could shoot pointy bullets and the actions were stronger. It always came back to they looked strange. Gotta wonder how many of them bought tactical AR platforms and called them Sweet Looking ?
I’ve one last 99 and its chambered 375 Win. Love it and my single shots in 38-55 I get confused with brass that has shoulders and necks wink
