I have a Sako 75 270 WSM. It did take awhile to find a .5 inch (three shot) load but it shot alot of loads into 1 to 1.25 inches.
I finally found IMR4350 with 130 grain bullets to be the .5 ticket but it will only run them only a little over 3200 fps. It will also shoot .5 with RL17 but I have not chronographed them yet.
I have killed several antelopes and deer with it with good results. I would not be afraid of any elk with it.
