I have all 3 of the 270 cal saying the 270 win shoot as fast as a 270wsm or 270 roy is bull [bleep]. lots slower the win,270 I shot a carbou with 270wsm the 130 gr put stuff after shot 15 to 20 yards from where hit hope it helps but will say this Its about the best cal to buy for anything you will hunt in the U.S.or canada
I have a 270W w/ 25 inch Douglas bbl that runs 150gr NBT's ~3085fps, 130gr NPT's just shy of 3200fps. And that rifle and 150gr load have been hooked up to a Oehler M43 Ballistics Lab and was under max pressure (slightly under anyway
).
But most folks forget to compare equal bbl lengths when comparing magnums to standard cartridges.........
