Burris also makes steel bases that work with Weaver rings, though they call them Xtreme Tactical bases. They're essentially short Picatinny rails, with more than one slot (mini-Picatinny?) and work very well.
When they're machined to proper dimensions. I've unfortunately run into a dud set that caused problems.
