I use my 300Wby mag for coyotes and deer. 300yd zero. +3.5100, +3.75200, 0"@300, - 7400.w/165BTs. 165/180GR BTs and 180gr ABs. Minor aim point changes to 475. Never had to track a deer, heart shots DRT legs up EVERY TIME with little meat damage. Can down or hot n heavy load versatility for nearly anything but grizzly (which I'll probably never experience). I do have a Marlin 336 in 30-30 that I LOVE for in the trees... But the 300 WbyMag is my one tool for everything! BTW, a Limbsaver pad makes it a heavy 12ga recoil.
