Non-magnums have their place. So do magnums.

This year I plan to take at least one magnum (.300WM or .338WM) on the elk hunt. I'll likely be shooting last (again). If one of the other shooters wounds one, I may be needed to help put it down. (Hopefully not, though.) Daughter #1 will be using a .308 Win/130g TTSX combo. She shoots it well, but at longer ranges I trust the .300WM and .338WM more.
