Sure, the pope has no special insight into political natters. I'm sure there are some loony leftist Catholics that think he does, but they were loony leftists to begin with. I don't know any. Like most geeks that specialise in a particular subject, the majority erroneously believe that they excell in all matters...when in reality a jack-of-all-trades has a better broad based understanding of the world and the problems experienced there-in.
