I’m going to have to go with Burns on this one. It sure looks to me that the shot in question hits very near the line where the light and dark hair come together in the neck/shoulder. I have no guesses on what caused the cloud/spray but I think it’s the vegetation in his antlers that falls of when he hits the ground.
