VX5 has larger internal lenses and the erector system is a newer design.
I think the VX5 has a better image and the eyebox is better so if the money does not matter it's a better scope.
The VX3 HD has a bit better image than the previous models and I don't have any problems with those tracking.
Plus the VX5 has 2 more VX's than the VX3. Or, it might be that the VX5 HD has 2 more HD's than the VX3 HD. VX's or HD's, the 3 and 5 both have less of both than the VX6 HD.
