Hard to imagine being able to haul enough shine in that to make it worthwhile.
Back then at $20/gal, you could easily haul 100 gallons. That's $2000 per run. What did the car cost.... 6K-7K? Pay for the car in 3 or 4 runs.
Average cost in 1963 was around 3k for car so could pay for it in 1 run almost..
How much did the guy running the still get out of that? And his helper? How much was grain & sugar? Bribes? How long did it take to make? Bail & fines?
