Left in middle of my sophomore year to join the Army as an 11B (light weapons Infantry), three years of which prepared me more for life than anything I learned in college. Went back anyway.
1975-78 Utah State University, BS in Forest Management.
Never worked a day in Forestry. No jobs available and what there were didn't pay squat. Used the last of my GI bill to attend a 6 month vocational school for computer programming, got a job as a programmer and have doing that for 33 years come this September.

I was at Utah State during the same time frame. They had a good forestry school. Did you enjoy it there? May I ask whereabouts in Idaho you are?
