I have always thought its funny that the guys typically most worried about gun weight are from the east and south. western people seem less worried about weight. magnum contour barrel for me. if your hunting in an area that is lots of terrain typically your shots will probably also be longer, sometimes ALOT longer. I would rather have a gun more capable of making a shot like that, because to me its less work in the end. I would rather glass ridges and coyote out areas. be capable of making a 6-700 yard shot rather than hiking my butt down in there after them all to have the stock blown potentially several hours of my hunting day wasted.
