Is there anything more crooked than an insurance company ?
No one is forced to buy insurance unless its through FEMA issues. Or vehicle liability to protect others from idiots.
Mortgage companies require you to buy insurance on the home they are loaning you money to buy. Banks require you to buy insurance on the car they are loaning you money to buy. And if you have a car that is paid for, your required liability insurance protects other drivers from you.
