Rebarrel it with a 24" barrel chambered in the 6.5x284. Set it up to shoot the 120NBT/125PT all in a nice "adult sized" stock. Get a Timney trigger and a mid size scope. He will be set for about anything, still have the wind bucking ability of 6.5 cal and get him started in handloading. He will love it! OR...do the same thing "but in 7mm/08 Ackley Improved" and really open up his world!
