I do like 6.5's, I also have a 260 with a 3" mag box on a Savage... I know the horror.... Larry will simply have to wipe his drool.... and put on his big boy pants.... hahaha
The 6.5-06 is simple way to get great performance from a 6.5. I don't understand the fascination of trying to stuff a 6.5pms or secret squirrel in a short action.....
