You are absolutely correct. The Tundra is about at the 20 year old Dakota technology level.
I'd not necessarily view that as a bad thing, given the growing pain$ that have been experienced with AFM, CVT, GDI, Start/Stop, Small Displacement + Turbo, various electronic gizmos, etc. Something that just
works, and does so for a lotta miles, still has cachet for many.
