regarding the "demand ID" thing, and I may be mistaken as it's been a good number of years, 25+ I think, but I recall a case in San Diego, might have gone to SCOTUS or maybe it was just the Ninth, where the cops demanded ID from a black guy for just walking around in the early morning. As I recall, the case was resolved that the man needed to "identify himself" , but was not required to provide papers.
