Bottom line... Regardless of your state’s law (even if you live in a “stop and identify” state), the police can *never* compel you to identify yourself without reasonable suspicion to believe you’re involved in illegal activity. Period.
I don’t think anyone will get away with not complying with a request for ID anymore.
If you choose to comply, when you don’t have to, that’s your choice. If you choose to surrender your rights, when you don’t have to, that’s your choice.
