I had a Savage 116 Weather Warrior with Accu stock and trigger that my wife and her brother bought for me when my .30-06 was in the shop for an extended stay. It was unbelievably accurate and shot almost every bullet into sub MOA groups. I had willed it to my brother in law because he liked it. I acquired a .30-06 Weatherby Vanguard 2 SS that shot about as well so I went ahead and gave the .270 to my brother in law. The other night we found 6 hogs rooting the pasture and he got 4 with 5 shots at over 200 yards. 3 were on the move after he shot the first one. He ran out of ammo and I shot a 5th one, so 1 survivor got away. Not too shabby for bolt rifles in the dark. If I were buying a .270W it would be a SS with synthetic stock Savage or Vanguard 2. I like wood and blue but I keep a rifle with me at all times for hog, dog, and coyote control and Stainless/Synthetic is a better choice for careless gun owners.

Patriotism (and religion) is the last refuge of a scoundrel.
