In fact, put a WTB ad in the classifieds for a buddy of mine doing exactly that - Kimber MT in 270.

I had one several years ago and really liked it. When it was stolen, I replaced it with a 280 AI mainly because I have a soft spot of the 0.284 caliber and the 280 cartridge in particular.
