I agree with your post, but only quoted the line above to remind everyone of a moment of honesty from Alan Greenspan, when being grilled about the viability of SS.
I will paraphrase.
"I can absolutely guarantee the continuation of the payments. What I cannot guarantee is the PURCHASING POWER of those payments".
In other words, we will continue to expand the currency supply by monetizing debt, thereby debasing the value of the currency. We will have lots of currency, but very little purchasing power with each unit of currency.
