It's been a while since I whacked anything with the 30-30. Though I can remember the few I have taken were very impressed with the little 30. I shoot the Sierra 170's. They have always exited and left a short trail if any to the animals. Not that I have abandoned the lever guns, I just use my 375 Win a little more often.
