I'll shoot at 200 yards every now and then, occasionally try to pop rocks at 250. Like any long range shooting, wind is your enemy, and more so with .22 rimfire.

Used to shoot 200 yard rimfire silhouette a bit and win quite often. I'd watch the wind flags for general behavior before and while I got to the line; is it steady, does it calm down and then pick up and hold steady for a while or is it all over the place?. Generally I'd wait for a lull or a steady breeze and then "machine gun" the targets, i.e. work the bolt, aim and fire as fast as I could to get as many shots out while the wind was consistent.

Gunnery, gunnery, gunnery.
Hit the target, all else is twaddle!
