do you folks eat the collared ones?
I'm letting the ones around here live as my Zombie Pockalips emergency food supply. Once nesting season is over I end up with about 40 or so coming in to eat the scratch I put out for the doves and pinyon jays (more emergency food)..
Every once in a while I get the urge to pop a couple with the pellet rifle, it would just be me eating them as the wife would prolly take a pass.
The collared doves taste as good as the mourning doves. Usually a little more meat. They are fair game year around.
