I've never walked up on a badger but I've shot 3 skunks at the end of my gun barrel.
3 years in a row that one I have pictured (the son of the badger pointer) has been skunked in SD. The dawn dish soap/peroxide/baking soda concoction really does work.
The only thing my dogs like more than pointing pheasants is fighting fur (bad trainer, me, I guess?) They'll fight a pile of raccoons in a heartbeat too. Keeps it entertaining I guess....
