Nothing like a broad base of experience to make your judgments.....
Actually, I have a narrow base of experience.
It is comprised of pretty, healthy, happy "plus size" girls and cute, muscular, little gymnasts.
The cheerleaders, models, and "hot" chicks avoided me.
I later learned that this is extremely common for big strong guys (I played on the O-line in college).
Had I only known that those two types of women were my "hots spots" I would not have struck out so often -- or as dramatically.
