I finally just figured it out myself.

copy the link as usual, not the embed code

1. hit Switch to full screen reply.
2. click on the icon that looks like a blue tv screen
3. a drop down list will show and pick youtube
4. paste the link in the space

I preview to make sure I did it right, then hit submit
