Wow - that's a scary one to hear. It's bad enough to hear that the OP had such a bad time with the guide & the outfitter. But moreso when I realized that I have hunted with Tyson in the past.
He was 18 or 19 at the time, and working for a different GO in the North Fork of the Flathead. That Guide Outfitter was absolutely 100% top notch, and I've hunted with them 4 times.
I only spent a couple days with Tyson, and only on foot: I never got to see him with the pack string. I won't abide anyone mistreating horses on a hunt, and certainly not the guide. This part, alone, would have ruined the hunt for me.
As said before, it's even more of a [bleep], given that the OP did far more research on the guide & GO than most ever bother to. I'm damned sorry to hear about this.
