It's only a concern because all the white rednecks are pissed off one of "them" got one of "their" women.
I dated local girls when I lived in Japan and married an Asian girl here in the state. The only people from whom I've ever heard derogatory comments about these relationships are Asian guys, and White women. Everyone else is either supportive, or don't care.
