Bears are predators and need to be treated as such... only Alaskans think they’re really huntin somthing..... as they schlep them up off kelp beds....
Down here they’re treated like shiit that they are... some think they’re a trophy...
I think that might be just a bit of a generalization. Lot's of bears get shot in the alpine in both the spring and fall. Big chunk of the state isn't on the coast, though you probably know that and the comment was likely directed.
