Simple--everyone here cheered when Trump said he was going to bring manufacturing back to the US. That will result in higher prices than we currently pay for a lot of goods, like the ones we're talking about here. It seems from this thread, and the Trijicon thread, that people don't want to pay the higher price.


It's not quite that simple. In many cases, American-made products simply don't exist in certain categories. In others, good American products don't exist at certain levels (consumer grade as opposed to "professional", like the heat gun mentioned earlier). Certainly, stuff will continue to be made overseas by and for American companies, but they don't have to be made in countries that want to destroy us. Apple just started making some iPhones in India, (whether for our market or not I don't know). Companies that make good stuff here should be rewarded with our business and encouraged whenever possible on consumer surveys or contact pages. Outfits like Burris should be contacted and nudged to abandon outsourcing to China. It's not enough to just forgo stuff outsouced to China, you need to tell them that you did it and why to have an impact.
